An Example of Generosity

Recently we sent the Angels’ Place network a card to celebrating the life and gift of David Stitt.  Sadly, Mr. Stitt died suddenly of COVID in April.  The card tells his life story.  The gift was a bequest.   You should also know that after receiving the card, four other generous souls documented their bequest intentions with Angels’ Place. Mr. Stitt’s foresight ensures that our mission will live on; his public inclusion in our Legacy Society motivated others to do the same.  Those are both powerful legacies. We hope you smile at the memory of Mr. Stitt and know that we thank you for all you do.  Your example of generosity is likely influencing the actions of others.  Thanks for your leadership.

Van Elslander Teamwork

Earlier this week, Crain’s Detroit Business published an article about the A.A. Van Elslander Foundation (thanks to Paul Widlak and Terry Desmond for forwarding the article to us).  The article shared that the foundation has resolved to spend-down the entirety of the funds left by the death of Art Van Elslander in the next seventeen years. First, know that we did submit a grant request to help Angels’ Place serve more people – especially those currently on our 300-person waitlist. Second, as we looked at some recent photos of the ladies at the Van Elslander Home in Troy (preparing for a Super Bowl Party) and the guys at the Mary Ann Van Elslander Home in Clinton Township (shoveling the snow), we were reminded of the generosity of this family over the years to Angels’ Place.  We hope the many facets of this “it’s a team effort” story bring some joy to your day.
